Description:
Unilateral continuous or near-continuous pain, with or without superimposed brief paroxysms, in the distribution(s) of the glossopharyngeal nerve and of unknown aetiology.
Diagnostic criteria:
- Unilateral continuous or near-continuous pain1 in the distribution of the glossopharyngeal nerve
- No cause has been identified
- Not better accounted for by another ICHD-3 diagnosis.
Note:
Brief paroxysms may be superimposed, but are not the predominant pain type.
